Pile Composting System

The pile composting system serves organic matter recovery from community waste and the so called green waste, produced in the course of maintenance of green areas (parks, lawns).

Pile composting is a process of composting biowaste placed in elongated piles, which are mechanically shoveled in order to increase pile porosity and uniformity.

Composting consists mainly in oxygen decomposition of complex organic compounds (fats, proteins, and carbohydrates).

Two parallel biochemical processes occur in the course of composting::
  • Mineralization, which lies in exothermic oxidation of organic matter to such compounds as: carbon dioxide, water, nitrates, sulfates, phosphates
  • Humification, which consist in synthesis of components into multimolecular humus substances.

The following conditions must be fulfilled and maintained in the course of the above mentioned processes:
  • Appropriate chemical composition;
  • Appropriate moisture content of compost mass;
  • Proper ventilation;
  • Specific process temperature ;
  • Participation of microorganisms.

When the composting is complete, the compost is processed on a compost purification line. Afterwards, the following stages take place: sorting in a drum sieve, mechanical cleansing on a vibrating table, along with segregation of small elements such as glass, stones, ceramic materials, as well as pneumatic treatment by means of cyclone to separate volatile fractions.

The cleaned compost is kept in piles in a storage area for maturation and distribution.

Soil conditioner benefits:

  • Enhances soil fertility by introducing organic matter and fertilizing components;
  • Maintains proper air-to-water ratio;
  • Benefits the soil by creating a lumpy structure.
